Rianna Patterson
Rianna Patterson is the film director of Dementia: The Island Journey. The Documentary tells stories of people and families affected by dementia and respected Caribbean elders, to learn their perspectives and how they are able to live such fruitful and long lives. Her production has already been selected into two film festivals in the Caribbean. Rianna has worked with clients from the National Health Service (NHS) in the UK on a short film on dementia. Her charity work has also been featured on Comic Relief and the BBC. As a photographer, Rianna has captured events such as Nottinghill Carnival.
She is also the founder of the Dominica Dementia Foundation, a youth-led-dementia charity. Having lost her Grandfather to dementia, she became aware of the long-term effects of this and plays a role in fighting dementia in communities. Rianna is a current dementia masters student at University College London (UCL).
